Wacken, 15.09.2022 – Vom 15. bis 20. September 2023 wird die zehnte Full Metal Cruise in See stechen. Dieses Mal führt der Kurs der Mein Schiff 4 von Kiel aus durch die Ostsee mit Stopps in Stockholm und Helsinki, beides ausgewiesene Heavy-Metal-Hochburgen. Nach sechs lauten und wilden Tagen endet die Reise dann erneut in Kiel. Für das Konzertprogramm an Bord stehen nun die ersten Bands fest: In Extremo, Clawfinger, Gloryhammer, Sonata Arctica, Imminence, Holy Moses und Crystal Viper werden auf den drei Bühnen des Schiffes auftreten. Holger Hübner und Thomas Jensen, Gründer des Wacken Open Air und Mitveranstalter der Full Metal Cruise, kommentieren: „Wir freuen uns sehr auf unsere Jubiläumsreise mit der Mein Schiff 4, denn die Cruise ist immer wieder ein besonderes Erlebnis. Die tolle Stimmung auf der FMC 9 im Juni hat deutlich gezeigt, dass es unseren Gästen genauso geht. Wir sind sicher, dass die Metalheads nicht nur an Bord ihre Freude haben werden, sondern auch bei den Landgängen in Stockholm und Helsinki – zwei Städten mit viel Rock’n’Roll. Ahoi!“ Natürlich wird es bei Europas lautester Kreuzfahrt zusätzlich zu den Livekonzerten ein üppiges Rahmenprogramm geben mit Spoken-Word-Shows, Karaoke, Meet & Greet mit den Stars, Lesungen, Kino, Tätowierer, Metal-Wellness und Workshops. Daneben locken Bars und Gastronomie: Auf der Full Metal Cruise sind bereits alle Speisen in den meisten Restaurants im Reisepreis enthalten sowie Full Metal Drinks inklusive. Das bedeutet: Bier, Softdrinks, Kaffee, Tee, alkoholfreie Cocktails und verschiedene Weine sind frei; ab 18 Uhr auch eine große Auswahl an Spirituosen, Cocktails und Longdrinks. Im Vordergrund stehen jedoch die Shows, die Riffs und die Musik: Mit In Extremo geht die erfolgreichste Band aus dem Mittelalter-Rock mit auf die Reise. Das Sextett verbindet harte Gitarren mit historischen Instrumenten, führte bereits die deutschen Album-Charts an und ist Stammgast auf den größten Bühnen des Landes. Die Schweden Clawfinger legten als europäische Pioniere des Rap-Rock Anfang der Neunziger die Grundlagen für ein ganzes Genre und sorgen bis heute für fetten Groove. Klassischen Power Metal zelebrieren die britischen Gloryhammer und Crystal Viper aus Polen, ihre finnischen Kollegen Sonata Arctica haben sich dem melodischen Metal verschrieben. Härteren Stoff gibt es von Imminence aus Schweden (Metalcore) und den legendären Thrashern Holy Moses um Sabina Classen, die schon Anfang der Achtziger als eine der ersten Frauen extreme Growl-Vocals bot (und heute kein bisschen braver klingt).

Privater Wohnmobilstellplatz mit der extra Portion Charme.

 „Mein Lieblingshof“ – Der Name ist Programm.

Gerade einmal 15 Fahrminuten südöstlich der Hanse- und Universitätsstadt Rostock liegt die beschauliche Gemeinde Dummerstorf mit ihrem Ortsteil Lieblingshof. Umrahmt von blühenden Gersten- und Rapsfeldern und einem idyllischen Naturschutzgebiet bietet dieser Ort Ruhe und Erholung pur. Gleichzeitig dient er jedoch auch als Ausgangspunkt für tagesfüllende Aktivitäten.

Wohnmobilisten aber auch Reisende, die mit dem Wohnwagen oder Zelt von Rostock kommend unterwegs sind und die von Linden gesäumte Allee (L191) passiert haben, werden automatisch an dem landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb entlanggeführt, der zum Verweilen einlädt.

Auf einer mehrere hundert Quadratmeter großen, mit Obstbäumen bestückten Pferdekoppel herrscht freie Platzwahl. Jedoch ist die Betreiberin, die jeden Reisenden persönlich willkommen heißt, darauf bedacht, dass jeder Gast ausreichend Platz erhält, um es sich gemütlich machen und dabei seine Privatsphäre genießen zu können. Um dies zu erreichen, wird die Zahl der Stellplätze der vorherrschenden Situation entsprechend beschränkt. Eine vorherige Anmeldung wäre empfehlenswert, denn gerade bei Reisenden, die Rostocks Fähranbindungen nutzen, ist „Mein Lieblingshof“ ein willkommenes Zwischenziel. Die durchweg positiven Bewertungen auf der App Park4Night tragen ebenfalls dazu bei, dass immer mehr Reisende diesen Ort als Zwischenziel auswählen.

Mit viel Liebe fürs Detail wird den Gästen ein Ort geboten, an dem sich diese rund um wohlfühlen können. Pferde, unterschiedliche Arten von Hühnern, Enten und Gänsen sowie der Ausblick auf die weiten Felder lassen schnell vergessen, dass nur wenige Fahrminuten entfernt das Leben in der Hansestadt pulsiert und mit der A19 und der A20 gleich zwei Autobahnen angebunden sind, die in jede Himmelsrichtung führen.

Ein Ver- und Entsorgungshäuschen für die Reisemobile, welche zudem mit geschlechtergetrennten Toiletten, einem liebevoll eingerichteten Duschraum ausgestattet ist, sowie der Möglichkeit, das mobile Eigenheim mit Strom zu versorgen, aber auch eine Bushaltestelle (Fahrten nach Rostock) nahezu unmittelbar vor dem Hof laden zum mehrtägigen Zwischenstopp ein. Viele, die anfänglich lediglich einen Platz für die Übernachtung gesucht hatten, entscheiden sich häufig spontan dafür, ihren Aufenthalt zu verlängern.

We woke reasonably late following the feast and free flowing wine the night before. After gathering ourselves and our packs, we headed down to our homestay family’s small dining room for breakfast.

Refreshingly, what was expected of her was the same thing that was expected of Lara Stone: to take a beautiful picture.

We were making our way to the Rila Mountains, where we were visiting the Rila Monastery where we enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, mekitsi, local jam and peppermint tea.

We wandered the site with other tourists

Yet strangely the place did not seem crowded. I’m not sure if it was the sheer size of the place, or whether the masses congregated in one area and didn’t venture far from the main church, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by tourists in the monastery.

Headed over Lions Bridge and made our way to the Sofia Synagogue, then sheltered in the Central Market Hall until the recurrent (but short-lived) mid-afternoon rain passed.

Feeling refreshed after an espresso, we walked a short distance to the small but welcoming Banya Bashi Mosque, then descended into the ancient Serdica complex.

We were exhausted after a long day of travel, so we headed back to the hotel and crashed.

I had low expectations about Sofia as a city, but after the walking tour I absolutely loved the place. This was an easy city to navigate, and it was a beautiful city – despite its ugly, staunch and stolid communist-built surrounds. Sofia has a very average facade as you enter the city, but once you lose yourself in the old town area, everything changes.

Clothes can transform your mood and confidence. Fashion moves so quickly that, unless you have a strong point of view, you can lose integrity. I like to be real. I don’t like things to be staged or fussy. I think I’d go mad if I didn’t have a place to escape to. You have to stay true to your heritage, that’s what your brand is about.
